Your price, item by item

You define your fees and logistics costs. The TrekFriendly commission is added to these amounts and is paid by the hiker.

A booking for one person

Adjust your amounts: the total includes any minimum commission supplement.

Amounts allocated to accommodation, meals or transport organised on behalf of participants. Leave this at 0 if none of these costs apply.

Logistics costs€0.00
Guiding fees€120.00
Commission (10 % of the price excluding supplement)€13.33
Minimum commission supplement€1.67
Total paid by the hiker€135.00
Guide's share€120.00

Example of a one-time payment for one person. The minimum commission is €15.00 per transaction, not per participant: its supplement may decrease or disappear for several people booking together. The guide's share includes the fees to pay to service providers; it does not represent a profit after your expenses and taxes. Payments follow the conditions below.

These rules concern the offers of independent guides. The payment conditions and the consequences of a cancellation are explained below.

How it works

01

Present your activity

Log in or create your account, then complete your profile and accept the guide commitments. You then access your guide space with the same account.

02

Prepare your publication

Submit your qualifications or certifications and professional liability insurance certificate for our team to verify. Set up your Stripe payment account and sign the SEPA mandate requested in your workspace.

03

Offer your departures

Describe your route, add photos and set your dates, prices and group size. Your offer is reviewed before it goes live. You can then track your bookings from your workspace.

Frequently asked questions

Who is this page for?

For independent guides who want to offer their own day or multi-day hikes. You remain responsible for your guiding, professional obligations and logistics organised on behalf of participants. For these offers, TrekFriendly acts as intermediary and management agent. Trips organised directly by TrekFriendly are subject to separate terms.

Why a professional civil liability certificate?

TrekFriendly requires a professional civil liability certificate to validate your guide profile, as well as your diplomas or certifications. This manual verification is necessary before publication. Your Stripe payment account must also be active to receive bookings. The platform does not replace your own insurance or the qualifications necessary for your activity.

When am I paid?

Payments are processed through Stripe Connect. The logistics share is transferred to your Stripe account as payments are collected, including before the departure is guaranteed. Guiding fees are held within Stripe’s payment infrastructure; their release may begin on the day after the trip starts, according to the Belgian banking calendar. A dispute, account restriction or outstanding debt may affect this payout. The subsequent transfer from Stripe to your bank follows its own timescale: this is not a promise that the money will reach your bank the next day. If a refund is due, amounts already transferred may be recovered up to the amount paid out to you.

How much does it cost?

No subscription fee. You enter your guiding fees and logistics costs per person. The commission is added to this amount and represents 10% of the price before any minimum commission supplement. The minimum commission is €15 per transaction: where necessary, the difference is added to the hiker’s total and shown before payment. It is not deducted from your share. The simulator above includes this supplement for a one-person booking.

Why a SEPA direct debit mandate?

This mandate allows amounts charged to you after a cancellation classified as avoidable to be recovered, after first deducting them from future guiding-fee payouts. It is signed online in your guide workspace. This direct debit authorisation is separate from the Stripe account used to receive payouts; you may enter the same IBAN.

Can this mandate debit me whenever it wants?

Nothing is debited unless a debt has been established after a cancellation case is decided as an “avoidable cancellation”. You receive an email at least 7 days before the debit, stating the amount and its basis. The amount due is first deducted from future guiding-fee payouts; the debit applies only to the remaining balance. Automatic recovery is limited to 3 unsuccessful attempts and may stop after the first rejection if the account is closed or the debit is unauthorised. The debt must then be settled with the team. The mandate also explains your right to request a refund from your bank within 8 weeks.

What happens if I cancel a departure?

Cancelling a departure results in a full refund to registered participants, including commission, without waiting for the reason to be classified. Actual receipt depends on refund processing and bank timescales. A case opens at the same time: you state your reason and have 14 days to submit supporting documents. The team considers official orange or red weather alerts, an adverse BERA avalanche risk bulletin, access closure orders and medical certificates relating to the departure. If force majeure is recognised, no cancellation penalty is charged to you. For an avoidable cancellation, the commission refunded to travellers is charged to you, plus €25 compensation per participant if cancellation occurs less than 15 days before departure. Without evidence by the deadline, the case is closed as an avoidable cancellation. Ordinary seasonal weather is not sufficient to establish force majeure.

Do I have to sign this mandate to publish?

Yes. An active mandate is required to open new departures for booking. For guides already on the platform when this requirement took effect, existing departures remain bookable for 30 days from that date. This is not a grace period granted to every new registration. Bookings already concluded must still be managed.

What happens if the group does not fill up?

You define a minimum number of participants for each departure. As long as this threshold is not reached, the departure is not guaranteed. If the minimum is still not reached on the deadline announced to the hikers, the departure is automatically cancelled and the registered participants are fully refunded, including the commission. This automatic cancellation is not an avoidable cancellation on your part.

Can I stop whenever I want?

You can close your guide activity from your workspace once your commitments have been settled. Upcoming confirmed bookings, an open cancellation case or an outstanding debt may prevent closure. Your live offers and those awaiting review are then archived, and you keep your hiker account. Closing your guide activity does not delete your data: account deletion must be requested separately in settings. Resuming the activity remains subject to the required checks and publishing conditions.
