General Terms of Use
Updated on September 22, 2026 · TrekFriendly
These Terms of Use define the conditions for accessing and using the TrekFriendly platform. Every user (visitor, Traveller or Guide) agrees to comply with them without reservation.
1. Platform services
TrekFriendly provides search, messaging and booking tools. Its role depends on the offer: intermediary for a guiding service sold on its own, retailer when a Guide combines and organises a package, or organiser when TrekFriendly combines and organises its own offer. The organiser’s identity and the applicable terms are specified before booking.
2. Access and registration
- Account: access to certain features requires an account. Users are responsible for keeping their login details confidential.
- Accuracy: users undertake to provide accurate, up-to-date information (identity and, for guides, qualifications).
3. Liability and limitations of warranty
- Responsibilities: the Guide is responsible for the guiding they provide, and each supplier for their own services. TrekFriendly is responsible for its own obligations and, when acting as organiser, for proper performance of the package within the limits set by law. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights users have under mandatory rules.
- Content: TrekFriendly endeavours to check information but does not guarantee the absolute accuracy of descriptions written by Guides.
- Availability: uninterrupted access is not guaranteed during maintenance or technical failures.
4. Intellectual property
TrekFriendly’s texts, logos and graphics are protected by copyright. Users retain their rights to photographs they publish and authorise their hosting and display within the relevant service. Any promotional or commercial reuse outside that service requires separate prior permission.
5. Fair dealing and respectful conduct
- No circumvention: using the platform’s messaging to exchange personal contact details for the purpose of bypassing the secure payment system is strictly prohibited.
- Conduct: users undertake to communicate courteously. TrekFriendly reserves the right to delete accounts involved in harassment or hate speech.
6. Data protection (GDPR)
TrekFriendly undertakes to process users’ data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The platform only collects data needed to connect people and secure payments. Details of the data collected, its purposes and how to exercise your rights (access, erasure, portability) are available in our Privacy Policy, permanently accessible in the site footer and forming an integral part of these terms.
7. Complaints and mediation
Complaints may be sent to info@trekfriendly.com, providing enough information to identify the booking concerned. TrekFriendly will first seek an amicable solution with the user.
If a consumer dispute remains unresolved after this initial step, the consumer may contact the Consumer Mediation Service free of charge or write to contact@mediationconsommateur.be. This service receives requests and forwards them to the competent body where appropriate.
